About NHS

Hello and welcome to NHS! We are a group of highly-motivated students making Lexington High School and our greater community a better place; throughout the year, we collectively complete thousands of hours of community service.

The National Honor Society is run by your student officers Hannah Kieval, Deniz Dokmecioglu, Mich Saleeby, and Grace Li. Our advisor is Dr. Parul Kumar.

Your leaders are responsible for keeping members informed of upcoming deadlines, projects, and events. If you have any questions about NHS, please email any of your officers and we will help.

Hannah Kieval

Hey guys! My name is Hannah and I am your president this year. I’m super excited for this year with all the service opportunities we have and fun events like the talent show! In my free time, I play lacrosse and field hockey, hang out with my friends and family, and go to the beach any time I can! If you ever have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out and I’ll be happy to help!

Deniz Dokmecioglu

VP of Fundraisng and Publicity

Hello, everyone! My name is Deniz and I’m proud to be your NHS vice president of fundraising and publicity this year. I plan to create more opportunities for community involvement by actively engaging our smartest minds (you!). I hope to create an environment where we all learn and grow together to better our community. NHS is so much more than a title: it shows perseverance.

Apart from running Cradles to Crayons and Senior Pals, I also co-lead the treble acappella group, Onomatopoeia. On my off hours, you can find me at my piano or in my bed reading a book.

Mich Saleeby

VP of Community Service

Hey guys! My name is Mich Saleeby and I am your Vice President of Service Projects for this year. Outside of school, I play the trumpet and run social media for the Lexington Wind Ensemble (@lhswindensemble & @lhs_band_memes), I do lots of Model UN (shoutout LexMUN), and love working out at the gym. Community service is something I am really passionate about and I believe we can do a lot of good as an organization. I really look forward to an amazing year and promise to do my best to help our community.

Grace Li

VP of Web AdministratioN

Hey everyone! My name is Grace and I’m your NHS Vice President of web administration. My responsibility is to make sure all the important information you need is clear and accessible. Outside of school, I love robotics, dance, NYT mini crosswords, and trying new restaurants/recipes (give me  recommendations!). I’m so excited to work with you all to help make our community a better place. Look forward to an amazing year of events, projects, and service opportunities!
